Overview

The Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, planned for 22675 Napier Road, Northville, MI, aims to serve as a unique, modern Hindu temple and community center, centrally located for Indian communities in Lyon Township, South Lyon, Northville, Novi, and surrounding areas. While the presiding deity is “Sri Bhakta Hanuman,” epitomizing devotion and strength in Hindu tradition, the temple welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds.

This project aspires to create a cultural and spiritual hub—a “home away from home”—for the Indian community while fostering integration with the wider Township and Southeast Michigan communities. It will include:

  • Multi-Purpose Hall: Hosting weddings, conferences, seminars, and community events like regional Math and Science Olympiads.
  • Dining Hall & Kitchen: Serving as a cafeteria for all visitors.
  • Classrooms: Spaces for dance, music, yoga, meditation, and early childhood activities open to all communities.

Architecturally, the temple combines traditional South Indian design with sustainable features, such as low-water fixtures, renewable energy, and responsibly sourced materials. Enhanced landscaping will blend with the township’s character, creating a welcoming and identifiable landmark.

Unlike other worship centers, Hindu temples typically see a rolling flow of visitors without fixed prayer times, minimizing traffic impact.

This community-focused project will enrich the Township by fostering cultural exchange, promoting safety, and enhancing real estate value. We respectfully seek township approval and offer the attached petition as a testament to community support.
