David Murphy is the Founder and Principal Architect of Fika Architects, bringing more than 18 years of experience designing projects across the United States and internationally. His portfolio includes industrial, manufacturing, aviation, commercial, educational, hospitality, mixed-use, and workplace environments, with work completed in more than a dozen countries.
David founded Fika Architects with a simple philosophy: provide the technical expertise and capabilities of a large firm while delivering the responsiveness, relationships, and personalized service of a small practice. He believes successful projects come from listening first, collaborating openly, and designing solutions that are not only beautiful, but practical, efficient, and buildable.
With a strong technical foundation, David is recognized for solving complex design and construction challenges. He has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM), and navigating projects from early planning through construction. Whether working with developers, municipalities, school districts, manufacturers, or contractors, he is committed to delivering clear communication, thoughtful design, and dependable execution.
David also utilizes advanced 3D visualization and rendering technology to help clients fully understand their projects before construction begins, leading to better decisions, fewer surprises, and more successful outcomes.
As Principal Architect, David remains actively involved in every project, ensuring each client receives the attention, technical expertise, and collaborative partnership that have become the foundation of Fika Architects.
