THE NAZ YOUTH CENTER

This project grew out of a desire to strengthen community ties by transforming a former indoor skate park into a vibrant youth center that serves both local families and the church’s mission of engaging young people. The reimagined space was designed as a hub for connection, learning, and recreation, featuring a field house with half-court basketball and a full volleyball court, a 120-seat worship space, a café lounge, gaming area, tutoring office, and an outdoor gathering space.

With the site already at maximum lot coverage, the design team embraced creative problem-solving to prioritize shared community spaces. By reclaiming underused impervious areas such as outdated walkways Fika Architects created a more welcoming entrance and lively outdoor areas without exceeding zoning limits. The completed center now offers a safe, inclusive, and flexible environment that brings youth and the broader community together through activity, support, and shared experience.
