The Vancouver Convention Center café is envisioned as a dual-level, community-engaging food and beverage destination that serves both conference attendees and the public along the harbor. Organized as an inside-out experience, the upper level supports the convention environment while the lower, harbor-facing level activates the waterfront with a welcoming, street-like presence defined by a refined glass façade, outdoor seating, and strong branding. The design draws from Vancouver’s natural and urban context—mountains, water, and a dense downtown fabric—while reinforcing the Convention Center’s leadership in sustainability as a world-first double LEED-certified building. Warm, natural materials such as wood and stone create an authentic Pacific Northwest character, supporting a simple, efficient café experience rooted in locality, quality, and artisan craftsmanship.
